PROCESS FOR PRODUCING ENDOHEDRAL FULLERENE AND ENDOHEDRAL FULLERENE PRODUCTION APPARATUS

As a method of purification of endohedral fullerene, there have been employed a solvent extraction technique and a liquid chromatography technique. These however have posed such a problem that efficient separation of endohedral fullerene from hollow fullerene is infeasible to thereby fail to attain mass purification of high-purity endohedral fullerene. There is provided a process comprising ionizing an endohedral fullerene product so as to generate a plasma composed of endohedral fullerene ions and impurity ions and performing selective deposition of endohedral fullerene ions on a substrate having a bias voltage applied thereto. Thus, it has become feasible to attain efficient purification of high-purity endohedral fullerene.
