The invention relates to a method and device for producing an optical link using light flashes. According to the invention, an arrangement (13) comprising a plurality of capacitors (C1 to C5) is provided in order to power a flash lamp (3) and the connection of said capacitors within the arrangement is controlled in a programmed manner such that the resulting capacitance thereof increases from one flash to the next.
