VALENCY DICTIONARY EXTENSION SYSTEM, METHOD AND PROGRAM THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend a large-scale valency dictionary efficiently in high quality which can bear a practical use.

SOLUTION: A method of extending the valency dictionary includes steps for: extracting, as a dictionary extension candidate 25, a combination wherein a valency dictionary record including an index of only one of combinations of a fist natural language combination list 1 is registered to the valency dictionary; selecting a combination registered into the first natural language combination list 2 (24) among extracted combinations as the object 26 for the dictionary extension; acquiring the valency dictionary records with one index of the combination from the valency dictionary 20 as a copy source entry 27 about the combination for dictionary extension 26; creating the valency dictionary records 28 for new extension by replacing the indexes of the first natural language by another index of the combination; and additionally registering them to the valency dictionary 20.
