PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid capable of enlarging a rotational angle with high operability and at low cost by means of assembling with only screws or fixing members. SOLUTION: A magnetic pole of a rotor 12 includes arcuate protrusion surfaces 12a, 12b which project to a radial direction from a rotating shaft. Fixed magnetic poles 13, 14 facing the magnetic pole of the rotor 12 include arcuate recess surfaces 13a, 14a. Coils 20, 21 are arranged around the fixed magnetic poles 13, 14. The rotor 12 has a fan-shape of 180 degrees or smaller and is formed with a notch portion 12c. The notch portion 12c includes a bolt 24 and a cushioning material 25 for determining the rotational angle of the rotor 12. The bolt 24 is inserted into a holder 22 and fixed by a base plate 23. Thus, the solenoid 10 can be made thin by contriving the positional relation of the rotor 12 and the fixed magnetic poles 13, 14, attaining a large rotational angle, cost reduction, without using permanent magnets, and attaining high operability by assembling using only one bolt 24.
