PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine capable of reserved transmission even if an externally equipped telephone set connected to the facsimile machine is in an off-hook state. SOLUTION: When the user of a composite machine 1 previously operates a display unit 43 to set a reserved transmission mode, the mode is stored in a mode storage unit 740. If a FAX/TEL switching unit 710 is set at the TEL, and a hook determining unit 730 determines that the externally equipped telephone set 8 is in an off-hook state; a control unit 10 refers to the unit 740 to set the apparatus at the reserved transmission mode in storage.
