PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide the radiation detector of a large area whose dead area with respect to radiation is small. SOLUTION: This radiation detector comprises an optical conductor substrate 3 for converting the radiation to an electric signal, a plurality of pixel electrodes formed on the optical conductor substrate 3, a switch substrate 2 having a switch for selecting a pixel for reading out the electric signal from among the plurality of pixel electrodes, and a signal reading circuit 6 for reading the electric signal outputted through the pixel electrode selected by the switch substrate 2. The switch substrate 2 consists of a plurality of divided substrates, and the optical conductor substrate 3 is arranged in common on the front surfaces of two or more of the plurality of divided substrates.
