PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching device whose contact state between a fixed contact and a movable contact can be changed by satisfying both conditions of the electric control and the mechanical operation, and whose switch knob can always be displaced. SOLUTION: The switch device is equipped with a lock pin 15 to be engaged with at least one of a transition inhibiting guide groove 26 of a first guide body 16 and the transition allowing guide groove 27 of a second guide body 17, a compression spring 28 to urge the lock pin 15 to the first guide body 16, an electromagnet 19 to actuate the lock pin 15 to the second guide body 17, the switch knob 13 and a movable contact 18a interlocked with the lock pin 15, and both fixed contacts 18b. When the lock pin 15 and the transition inhibiting guide groove 26 are engaged, the contact state between both the fixed contacts 18b and the movable contact 18a is maintained even if the switch knob 13 is displaced. When the lock pin 15 and the transition allowing guide groove 27 are engaged, the contact state between both the fixed contacts 18b and the movable contact 18a can be changed by the displacement of the switch knob 13.
