PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of an apparatus, facilitate collection of fuel particles, work of classifying sizes of the fuel particles, etc., and enhance quality of overcoated fuel particles. SOLUTION: The apparatus 10 for overcoating fuel particle 1 comprises a treatment chamber 12 into which the fuel particles 1 for overcoating is charged, a matrix material feed nozzle 46 for feeding a graphite matrix material into the treatment chamber 12 and an alcohol spray nozzle 42. The treatment chamber 12 can be turned by a motor 20, and is provided with a reservoir section 26 in which the charged fuel particles 1 can be retained even if the chamber 12 is turned. The reservoir section 26 is provided with a port 32 formed in a face spaced apart from the center of turning of the chamber 12, to which port a screen 30 is removably installed. The chamber 12 comprises a rotator 22 and a non-rotator 24, and the matrix material feed nozzle 46 and the alcohol spray nozzle 42 feed a graphite matrix material and the like into the chamber 12 through the non-rotator 24.
