HYDROGEL COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogel composition having improved mechanical properties compared with hydrogel compositions produced by conventional methods and provide a method for producing the hydrogel composition. SOLUTION: The hydrogel composition contains water and a hydrophilic polymer and has (a) an ultimate tensile strength of≥10 kPa or thereabout, (b) a compression strength of≥70 kPa or thereabout or (c) an ultimate tensile strength of≥10 kPa or thereabout and a compression strength of≥70 kPa or thereabout.
