PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic radial tire which is used for an airplane and whose bead portion contacting with the flange of a rim has excellent heat aging resistance, hardly cracks and has largely improved safety. SOLUTION: This pneumatic radial tire for the airplane is characterized by disposing a surface rubber layer 6 exposed on the outside of the tire and a base rubber layer 7 placed on the back side of the surface rubber layer 6 in a range of at least 0.5 to 1.5H, when the height of the rim flange from a bead base position A is H in states that the tire is mounted on a standard rim R and is inflated with air at a specified inner pressure, and applying a rubber composition prepared by compounding 45 to 60 pts.wt. of HAF grade carbon black with 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component which comprises 30 to 50 mass% of natural rubber and/or synthetic polyisoprene rubber and 70 to 50 mass% of polybutadiene rubber having a cis-1,4-bond content of≥94%, to the surface rubber layer 6.
