A magnetic resonance imaging device includes signal reception means for detecting a nuclear magnetic resonance signal from an examinee, signal processing means for reconfiguring an image by using the detected nuclear magnetic resonance signal, and display means for displaying the image. The magnetic resonance imaging device continuously or stepwise moves the imaging portion of the examinee in the imaging space so as to obtain the entire image of the examinee, thereby performing magnetic resonance imaging. The magnetic resonance imaging device further includes: detection means for detecting the inclination and size of each portion of the examinee; input means for inputting reference information for performing magnetic resonance imaging in accordance with the inclination and the size on the image expressing the inclination and the size of each portion of the examinee displayed on the display means; storage means for storing the inputted reference information; control means for controlling imaging in accordance with the reference information stored in the storage means; and synthesis means for combining the nuclear magnetic resonance signals obtained by imaging performed under the control so as to create the entire image.
