<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure measuring device and a blood pressure measuring method permitting objective and appropriate selection of a result of blood pressure measurement when the blood pressure is measured by using a plurality of different methods for measurement together or changing the methods. <P>SOLUTION: The blood pressure measuring device comprises a first pulse wave signal detecting means for detecting pulse wave signals according to a first principle, a second pulse wave signal detecting means for detecting pulse wave signals according to a second principle, a cuff to be worn in a blood pressure measuring region for detecting pulse waves using the first and second pulse wave signal detecting means, a body movement detecting means for detecting the body movement, and a blood pressure value selecting means for selecting either the blood pressure value extracted from the pulse waves detected by the first pulse wave signal detecting means or the blood pressure value extracted from the pulse waves detected by the second pulse wave signal detecting means based on the characteristics of the body movement obtained by the body movement detecting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
