<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing sodium and boron from sodium metaborate by allowing the sodium metaborate to react with at least one reducing agent. <P>SOLUTION: Sodium borohydride is manufactured by a process including (a) a process in which a product mixture containing sodium and boron is formed by allowing the sodium metaborate to react with at least one reducing agent and (b) a process in which sodium borohydride is formed by allowing the sodium and the boron to react with hydrogen.
