PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a flexible printed board having such properties as follows: first, flexible and easily bent; second, can be reduced in weight and thickness while being densified and microfabricated; third, can be manufactured by simple processes and can be reduced in cost; and fourth, can be improved in accuracy, etc. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, both faces of a film base material 3 consisting of a double-sided copper clad laminate which is such that copper foils 2 are pasted on both faces of an insulation film 1 having a flexibility are coated overall with masking layers 14, and then a penetration hole 5 for a through hole 4 is formed in the film base material 3, and a conductive film 17 is formed inside the through hole 5. Next, electric power is supplied from the copper foils 2 of the film base material 3 to apply electric copper plating 6 to the through hole 5. After removing the masking layers 14, the copper foils 2 on both faces are patterned to form circuit patterns 7. By following these processes, a flexible printed board F which is such that the circuit patterns 7 are formed on both faces of the insulating film 1 having a flexibility can be manufactured.
