PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact assembly of a circuit breaker, easy to assemble, with a rapid limiting current breaking speed, capable of maintaining a movable contactor in a given position without returning to a fixing contact side, after completion of a contact point opening. SOLUTION: The contact assembly of a circuit breaker includes a pair of first spring-biased pins 54a, 54b, cam boards 40, 42, a pair of second spring-biased pins 64a, 64b, a link 60 connecting the first pins with the second pins, and springs 50, 52 with one end biased to the first pin and the other end to the second pin, giving bias force in a direction of a contact pressure provided when a movable contactor 4 comes in contact with two fixed contactors 9, 9', and acting in a direction accelerating an opening between the movable contactor and the first/second fixed contactors when the second pin slides on a third cam surface due to an electromagnetic repulsive force generated between the movable contactor and the first/second fixed contactors.
