PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing toner to obtain an excellent toner which ensures no color irregularity and a wide color reproduction range even in a light pressure fixing system, does not cause faulty fixing even at high speed, can be fixed without problems even on transfer materials of different sizes, and requires neither cleaning means nor waste toner box. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the toner, a step of simultaneously carrying out surface modification and classification is carried out using a simultaneous surface modification-classification apparatus to obtain toner particles, and in a step of externally adding an inorganic fine powder to the toner particles to obtain toner, mixing and surface modification of the toner particles with the external additive are carried out using a simultaneous mixing-surface modification apparatus with impellers to obtain the objective toner.
