PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device capable of obtaining good steering characteristic by enhancing rear grip feeling sensed by a driver. SOLUTION: A steering angular velocityωis detected (see Fig. 3(b)) based on a steering angleδ(see Fig. 3(a)) and a turning starting time (time going back from t<SB>1</SB>by t<SB>b</SB>) is presumed from a time variation amount of the steering angular velocity (steering angular accelerationζ) at the time (t<SB>1</SB>) exceeding a predetermined threshold valueω<SB>th</SB>. A steering amount in the same phase direction as a front wheel is set as a correction angleΔθ<SB>R</SB>of a rear wheel steering angleθ<SB>R</SB>at the time whenΔt<SB>th1</SB>-Δt<SB>th2</SB>passes from the turning starting time and a steering amount of a rear wheel is controlled so as to get the rear wheel steering angleθ<SB>R</SB>added with the set correction angleΔθ<SB>R</SB>.
