PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display apparatus capable of maintaining fine image quality by suppressing the occurrence of misdischarge even at a low temperature. SOLUTION: In accordance with the temperature of a plasma display panel on which an magnesium oxide layer containing magnesium oxide crystal bodies allowed to be stimulated by irradiation of electron beams and emit cathode luminescence light having a peak in a wavelength area of 200 to 300nm is formed, the pulse width of driving pulses to be applied to the plasma display panel is changed.
