A method provides, at an exhibition site, a promotional item formed using motion picture data. The method uses the steps of receiving a motion picture data stream at the exhibition site, wherein the data stream is encoded to define at least one recordable portion and storing the at least one recordable portion of the motion picture data stream at the exhibition site. The method further uses the step of forming the promotional item according to the at least one recordable portion of the data stream, in response to a user command.
