COLOR FILTER AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

There is provided a color filter used in a liquid crystal display device of the lateral field method which is built in the liquid crystal display device without using an electrode between the liquid crystal and the pixel of the liquid crystal display device. The color filter includes a transparent substrate and a pixel containing a colored layer of a plurality of colors arranged on the transparent substrate. No protection layer is provided on the pixel. The colored layer of at least one color has dielectric tangent (tan d) in the range of frequency 10 Hz to 100 Hz and not greater than 0.03.
