摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide forceps for open electrosurgery for efficiently cutting a tissue along a newly formed tissue seal. <P>SOLUTION: A driving rod 242 is advanced in the proximal direction as indicated in the arrow "A" to seal a target tissue held between jaw members 232 and 234. As a result, a cutting element 244 is advanced at an angle to the longitudinal axis as indicated in the arrow "B". The cutting element 244 is drawn out toward the jaw member 232 (to be developed from a slot 234b formed on a sealing surface 234a of the jaw member 234) to slice the target tissue clamped between the jaw members 232 and 234. The cutting element 244 is drawn out in the direction "B" by the cam effect worked between slots 244a and 244b and a pin 250, so that the slicing or cutting motion is created for the cutting element 244. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
