PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing agent composition for aqueous electrolyte battery not using or restraining the use of organic solvent to the utmost, fulfilling various functions like electrolyte resistant property required to the sealing agent, not bringing about cost increase. SOLUTION: The sealing agent composition for aqueous electrolyte battery contains (A) aqueous emulsion of ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl versatate copolymer, and (B) not less than one kind selected from ethylene propylene latex, chloroprene latex, polyethylene latex chlorosulfonate, styrene-(meta) acryl emulsion; as main components.
