PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric oscillator which can be miniaturized and has high shock resistance. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric oscillator consists of an IC, piezoelectric resonator, first substrate for mounting the IC, second substrate laminated on the first substrate and forming a concave portion for housing the IC, third substrate laminated on the second substrate and forming the concave portion for housing the IC and the piezoelectric resonator, fourth substrate laminated on the third substrate and forming the concave portion for housing the IC and the piezoelectric resonator, and a lid member for hermetically sealing the concave. The piezoelectric oscillator is formed in such a way that a connection terminal connected to the IC by wire bonding is formed on the second substrate, the piezoelectric resonator is rectangular, one end in a longitudinal direction is fixed on the top surface of the third substrate, and one of the third substrate is disposed on the bottom surface of one end in a widthwise direction not including the other end in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric resonator. The IC is disposed closer to the widthwise direction of the concave, one part of the substrate disposed on the bottom surface of the piezoelectric resonator is disposed on a portion opposite to the position where the IC is closely disposed.
