摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide body for surface light source of edge light type capable of sufficiently suppressing generation of a bright band and a dark band and generation of oblique light. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the light guide body for the light source device of the edge light type which guides the light emitted from a primary light source and has a light incident end face where the light emitted from the primary light source enters and a light outgoing face from where the guided light emits, a material of the light guide body 2 made of a translucent synthetic resin is used, and its light incident end face 2c is finished by a cutting process using a bite 12. As the bite, a bite 12 having a relief angle D1 of 3 degrees or more and 4.5 degrees or less, with a rake angle D2 of 3 degrees or more and 8 degrees or less, and curvature radius R at the tip of 1.5μm or more and 6μm or less is used.
