PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil additive effectively stabilizing cycle fluctuation of flow in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine and excellent in environmental suitability, to provide a fuel oil composition containing the additive, and to provide a method for stabilizing cycle fluctuation of an internal combustion engine by using the fuel oil composition. SOLUTION: The fuel oil additive usable for stabilizing cycle fluctuation of the internal combustion engine comprises a compound containing nitrogen and oxygen. The fuel oil composition contains the fuel oil additive. And the method for stabilizing cycle fluctuation of the internal combustion engine is provided by using the fuel oil composition.
