PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hook lock reduced in backset amount, suitably used for a sliding door having a vertical stile with less depth, enabling the smooth locking and unlocking and the movement of a sliding button, requiring less number of components, suitable for mass-production, enabling the adjustment of backset amount, capable of coping with different door pull positions, and also capable of coping with the decentering and erroneous cutout in mounting. SOLUTION: This hook lock comprises a box-like lock case 2 installable in a space formed in the stile of an installed sliding door, a bellcrank-like hook member 3 having a center bent part 32 fixed to a rotating shaft 31 installed across the side plates 22 and 22 of the lock case 2 disposed oppositely to each other, having one end where a key part 33 projected from and recessed into a projection and recess groove 23 is formed in the front plate of the lock case 2 and the other end where a U-shaped connection groove 34 is formed, and a sliding member 4 having, at the end part of the hook member 3, a connection shaft stored in the lock case 2 slidably in the longitudinal direction and fitted into the connection groove of the hook member 3 and having the insert hole of the sliding shaft 5 formed in communication with the sliding groove longitudinally formed between the side plates 22 and 22 of the lock case 22 disposed oppositely to each other.
