PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To loosen the span of control when fixing a reed to a loom without damaging the interchangeability of the reed among looms, in other words, to prevent weaving defects from being caused by dent break or the like even if the reed is attached by an excessive nipping force, and to enable the loom to be operated at a higher speed. SOLUTION: An insertion lower end part 7 of the dent to be inserted to an upward concave part 11 of a lower channel is formed into a narrow parallel part narrower than the width w of the dent at just upper part in the reed of the loom having the lower channel 5 with a prescribed thickness and an upward U-shaped cross section. Preferably, the upper edge parts of the dent-holding walls 6a and 6b of the lower channel have heights surrounding the front and rear of a pitch coil 3, and the dent-holding walls 6a and 6b of the lower channel have asymmetrical thicknesses regulated so that the wall thickness of the rear edge side of the dent is thicker than that of the front edge side. As a result, the dent break or the like is prevented from being caused to prevent the weaving defect from being caused even if the excess nipping force acts on the lower channel 5 because of the small amount of deformation of the lower channel 5.
