PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method with which a wire grid polarizer for improving a visible ray transmissivity and the wire grid polarizer can be facilitated to manufacture. SOLUTION: The wire grid polarizer comprises a substrate with a 1st surface and a 2nd surface, two or more metal wire formed on the 1st surface, a grating pattern which is formed on the 2nd surface and has a grating pattern with a grating cycle less than a half of incident light wavelength.
