PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper having an excellent wearing feeling and an excellent leakage preventing property from the waist and from the periphery of the thighs. SOLUTION: The disposable diaper comprises an absorbing main body 5 having a first absorbent core 4 and an sheath 10. Waist gathers extendable and shrinkable in the waistline direction are formed on the sheath on a back side section and/or a belly side section. A sheet-like auxiliary absorber 74 comprising four pieces of second absorbent cores 7 and 7' and a sheet covering and connecting the upper surfaces and the bottom surfaces of the second absorbent cores 7 and 7' in the plane direction is fixed between the absorbing main body 5 and the sheath 10 so that the second absorbent cores are arranged separatingly on the right and left of the back side and belly side sections. Part of each second absorbent core overlaps the first absorbent core 4 and the other part of each second absorbent core does not overlap the first absorbent core 4.
