PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigeration and air-conditioning unit, and a control method of the refrigeration and air-conditioning unit, capable of improving operation efficiency and reliability by providing a plurality of evaporators used for cooling of a showcase, and preventing a lack of cooling capability by reduction in operation efficiency and rise of low pressure by pulling-in of low pressure involved by operation/stoppage of the showcase. SOLUTION: At the time of starting operation of the showcase 2, the showcase 2 is operated at a first initial opening of a pressure reducing device 8 for a predetermined time (step 21), and then operated at a second initial opening smaller than the first initial opening for a predetermined time (step 22). At the time of stopping the operation of the showcase 2, the opening of the pressure reducing device 8 is changed stepwise.
