Separating a mixture of plastics with little or no triboelectric chargeability or insufficient differential triboelectric chargeability comprises comminuting the mixture, subjecting it to a low-temperature low-pressure plasma treatment, storing it for at least 10 minutes, triboelectrically charging the mixture and subjecting it to electrostatic sorting.
