<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a melanogenesis inhibitor with high safety, excellent in bleaching effect and low in polarity and to provide a skin care preparation for external use containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This invention relates to the melanogenesis inhibitor comprising cryptoxanthin as an active component, wherein the preferable cryptoxanthin is an enzyme treatment product of citrus fruits and/or squeezed lees or their extracts, and the invention relates to the skin care preparation for external use comprising the melanogenesis inhibitor, and also relates to the skin care preparation for external use comprising the cryptozanthin together with one or more kinds of pharmacodynamic components selected the group consisting of a bleaching agent, an active oxygen scavenger, an antioxidant and an antiinflammatory agent. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
