PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition which enables flow control of resin and can satisfy all heat resistance and toughness, and to provide a prepreg and a fiber reinforced composite material obtained by using the same. SOLUTION: The epoxy resin composition comprises as essential components [A] an epoxy resin with <3 functions having at least one kind selected from a naphthalene ring, an oxazolidone ring, a dicyclopentadiene group, and a biphenyl group; [B] an epoxy resin having≥3 functions; [C] a thermoplastic resin; [D] an aromatic polyamine curing agent, [E] dicyandiamide; and [F] a dicyandiamide curing agent, wherein the component [B] is contained in an amount of≤45 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the whole epoxy resin.
