PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a communication style that a remote I/O system should comprise, such as one-to-one inter-station communication or batch multi-address communication at an approximately fixed speed regardless of the number of a master station and remote I/O stations to be connected and a transfer distance. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus is configured by daisy chain connection of a plurality of nodes, and one node 10 includes a main communication control unit for controlling communication with another node. When performing communication in a system including a slave communication control unit, as a node other than the node including the main communication control unit, each of other nodes 20, 30, 40 inputs data received from a node of the preceding stage of the daisy chain connection, transmits the data to a node of the following stage of the daisy chain connection and transmits data received from the node of the following stage of the daisy chain connection and output data of the relevant node to the node of the preceding stage of the daisy chain connection, thereby directly transmitting data between specific two nodes of the daisy chain connection.
