PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the storage efficiency of a capacitor element in a large electrolytic capacitor, cause the gas to be properly discharged that occurs in normal use, and to prolong the lifetime of the electrolytic capacitor; and to provide an electrolytic capacitor, provided with a pressure bulb that reliably operates when the internal pressure rises abruptly. SOLUTION: The electrolytic capacitor comprises a capacitor element, a closed-end tubular external case for storing the capacitor, an opening sealing body for sealing the opening of the external case, a pressure bulb comprising rubber provided at the opening-sealing body, and an air vent valve comprising translucent rubber, wherein the proportion of gas transmission amount between the pressure bulb and the air vent valve is 1:8.
