PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve production efficiency and to prevent a display panel from being damaged by eliminating the need for inverting operation of the display panel in a stage of connecting the display panel and a flexible cable. SOLUTION: In a method of connecting an electrode terminal of a flat display device comprising a couple of flat substrates 1 and 2, having electrodes for display on surfaces which are opposed to each other and stuck together so that terminals of the electrodes led out to edges are exposed, and signal cables 8 and 13 to each other through anisotropic conductive films, a stage of connecting the signal cable 8 to the electrode terminal led out to the edge of the one flat substrate 1 by heating and pressing the signal cable from above and a stage of connecting the signal cable 13 to the electrode terminal led out to the edge of the other flat substrate 2 by heating and pressing the signal cable from below are successively carried out.
