摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decontamination facility of uranium waste capable of reducing running cost and a generation amount of secondary waste. SOLUTION: This facility is equipped with a reactor 62 for heating the waste 61 containing uranium, a centrifugal separator 63 for sorting gas-phase uranium hexafluoride 3, a cold trap 64 for cooling and liquifying the uranium hexafluoride 3 acquired by centrifugal separation, and a detoxifying means 67 for generating a salt 66 from a halogen-based by-product 65 generated accompanying the uranium hexafluoride 3. A decontamination loop 82 capable of circulating chlorine trifluoride 70 is constituted of the reactor 62, the centrifugal separator 63 and conduits 77, 81. Hereby, volume reduction effect is exhibited, wherein the volume of a residue 97 removed from the reactor 62 becomes smaller than the volume of the waste 61 before decontamination, corresponding to uranium removal and uranium salt 66 generation.
