PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray CT apparatus which enables CT photographing of high magnifying power, can obtain the three-dimensional data of a specimen by short-time CT photographing, can minimize the exposure quantity of X rays to the specimen and is suitably used in an animal experiment ward, for example, in a regeneration medical field. SOLUTION: In the X-ray CT apparatus equipped with a means constituted by arranging an X-ray source 1 for outputting cone beams of X rays and a two-dimensional X-ray detector 2 are arranged in opposed relationship and providing a holding part (a turntable 3 or the like) for holding a specimen W between them and relatively rotating a pair of the X-ray source 1 and the X-ray detector 2 and the holding part 3, a photographing magnifying power altering mechanism (xz stage) 4 for changing the position of a relative rotation center axis R and a pair of the X-ray source 1 and the X-ray detector 2 in the direction of an X-ray optical axis L and a moving mechanism (xy table) 5 for moving the position of the holding part to the relative rotation center axis R on the plane crossing the relative rotation center axis R at a right angle are provided and a shutter 11 for restricting the irradiation region of X rays from the X-ray source 1 is provided.
