PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an anti-trypanosomiasis agent having high prophylactic or therapeutic effects on trypanosomiasis. SOLUTION: This anti-trypanosomiasis agent comprises a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>denote each hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, hydroxy group, oxygen atom, a 1-5C alkyl group, a 1-5C alkoxy group, a 5-8C aryl group, a 5-8C aryloxy group, a 2-6C alkoxycarbonyl group or a 2-6C alkylaminocarbonyl group and may mutually be bound; R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>denote each a 1-5C alkyl group or a 5-8C aryl group; R<SP>6</SP>and R<SP>7</SP>denote each hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, hydroxy group, oxygen atom, a 1-8C alkyl group, a 1-5C alkoxy group, a 5-8C aryl group, a 5-8C aryloxy group or a 2-6C alkoxycarbonyl group and may mutually be bound; Y and Z form each a 5- or a 6-membered heterocyclic ring; (m) and (n) denote each 0 or 1; Q denotes a physiologically acceptable anion; and (k) denotes an integer of 0-2).
