PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator for hair being suitable for an accumulated hair dyeing by which pains are hard to feel even when the comb section is repeatedly firmly rubbed to the scalp, and to provide a makeup substance container having an applicator which is equipped with such an applicator for hair. SOLUTION: Hair is combed by the comb section for which a liquid applying member is arranged to be adjacent to a comb member. At the same time, an application liquid in the attached container can be applied to hair through the liquid applying member by this applicator for hair. The cross section area of the comb tooth from the distal end of the comb tooth of the comb member to a position closer to the proximal end by 0.3 mm is from 0.95 mm2to 4.00 mm2.
