PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat forward/backward sliding device for a chair with a small number of parts, capable of being assembled in a short period of time and being easily disassembled. SOLUTION: A bearing part 25 is detachable from a seat support rod 15 only when moved out of a regular forward/backward movable range of a seat shell 23 when the chair is used. The seat support rod 15 has a stopper 47, and a turning restraining means 36 is detachably attached to the seat shell 23. When the rotation restraining means 36 is attached to the seat shell 23, a locking part 45 of a lever member 30 can be engaged with/disengaged from an engagement part of the seat support rod 15 and the lever member 30 can be locked with the stopper 47. On the other hand, when the rotation restraining means 36 is detached, the lever member 30 is turned to the position where the locking with the stopper 47 is released, and the bearing part 25 can be moved together with the seat shell 23 to the position where the bearing part 25 can be attached to/detached from the seat support rod 15 out of the regular forward/backward movable range.
