PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phantom for a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus capable of substantially reducing time required for changing a sample and of replacing the sample with an easy operation. SOLUTION: This phantom for the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus is equipped with a liquid reserving space for retaining a sample solution and a sample flow passage for making the sample solution flow into the liquid reserving space. The liquid reserving space has the approximately same dimensions as kidneys of small animals, and a nitroxide radical aqueous solution whose concentration is changed depending on time flows into the liquid accumulating space. Consequently, the time required for changing the sample is substantially reduced, and the replacement of the sample is carried out with an easy operation. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
