PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic apparatus, excellent in the durability, capable of preventing application of an excessive tensile load to a pole-shaped elastic member constituting a bending part. SOLUTION: The bending part 8 consists of the pole-shaped elastic member 17 with a plurality of pressure chambers 16 disposed along the circumferential direction, and the bending part 8 is bent/deformed in an arbitrary direction by feeding/discharging high-pressure gas to the plurality of pressure chambers 16 selectively. A front mouthpiece 26 and a rear mouthpiece 27 are connected to one end and the other end of the pole-shaped elastic member 17, respectively, and one end of a wire 31 as, a cord-shaped member, is connected to the front mouthpiece 26. A stopper ring 32 is slidably stored inside the rear mouthpiece 27, and the other end of the wire 31 is connected to the stopper ring 32. The stopper ring 32 can be displaced in the axial direction only by a set stroke, and the displacement is restrained as the stopper ring abuts to the inner surface of the rear mouthpiece 27 when displaced to the front of the set stroke.
