摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display substrate having a high transmission rate though a thin film, etc. are not formed on it. SOLUTION: The display substrate is composed of alkali-free glass, and is characterized in that the difference in transmission▵T<SB>400</SB>at the wavelength of 400 nm between the transmission when both surfaces of the substrate are removed by 30μm respectively (when the radial thickness of the substrate is 0.1 mm or more), or when a third of the radial thickness is removed respectively (when the radial thickness of the substrate is less than 0.1 mm), and the transmission before the removal, falls within 0.5-5.0%. The display substrate has a heterogeneous layer on its surface, of which composition is different from the composition of the inner part.
