The invention relates to a string of lights supplied by an animator having a number of supply paths in order to create visual effects, this string of lights being able to be connected to the animator via a common supply wire (15) and by a neutral wire (18). The string of lights comprises bulbs (4) each having a junction diode (2), which are connected in parallel between the common supply wire (15) and the neutral wire (18) via bulb holders for a bayonet base or the like. The bulbs (4) are divided into two distinct subassemblies according to a supply position of the filament (40) at which the supply is permitted only in the forward direction of the diode. Each of the bulbs comprises a first electrical connection contact (44) connected to the diode that is oriented for letting a first type of current alternation to pass from the first contact to the first end of the filament, the second end of the filament being connected to a second contact (46) of the fixing base (41).
