PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an excellent image display device of low cost by curtailing manufacturing processes of its front substrate without degrading its performance. SOLUTION: A coating resin layer is formed by an ink-jet method on the surface of a phosphor layer and a light-shielding layer, afterwards, an ink layer containing metal fine particles to be a material of a metal back layer is formed by an ink-jet method, and then is sintered to remove organic components in the resin coating layer and the metal fine particle ink layer by combusting it, and at the same time, the metal fine particles are molten into a thin film to form the metal back layer.
