PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that an abnormal image is made due to that pre-synchronization light for detecting synchronization falls outside the effective area of a lens and flare light at the discrete face of the lens reaches the image region on a image carrier. SOLUTION: A light beam is shielded after passing through an fθlens 43 by a shielding member 70 which forms shielding parts 70a and 70b which shield the outside of the effective scanning area including an optical path for synchronization detection, thus the pre-synchronization light beams L1 and L2 are shielded by the shielding parts 70a and 70b of a shielding member 70 and not made incident to an image carrier even when the pre-synchronization light beams L1 and L2 are turned into flare light by being deflected at the discrete part of the fθlens 43.
