PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition and an adhesive tape exerting high adhesive force to an inorganic adherend or the like and high in adhesive retention. SOLUTION: The acrylic adhesive composition contains an acrylic copolymer with a glass transition temperature(Tg) of -26°C to -30°C and a weight-average molecular weight(Mw) of 550,000-700,000 that is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture comprising≥80 wt.% of a (meth)acrylic 8-12C alkyl ester and 0.1-3 wt.% of a functional group-containing unsaturated monomer copolymerizable with the (meth)acrylic 8-12C alkyl ester and 23°C or lower in the glass transition temperature (Tg) of its homopolymer.
