PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oil-in-water type skin care composition for external use, which can prevent the contact of a vitamin A fatty acid ester with water, finely and uniformly control oily particles themselves, and improve the stability of the vitamin A fatty acid ester to hydrolysis. SOLUTION: This oil-in-water type skin care composition for external use is obtained by simultaneously dispersing oily particles having an average particle diameter of 10 to 1,000μm in an aqueous medium and having the following characteristics (1) and (2). (1) The above oily particles comprise the following components (A) to (C), wherein the content of component (C) is 5 to 40 mass% based on the total amount of the oily particles. (A) a vitamin A fatty acid ester. (B) an oil liquid at ordinary temperature. (C) an amphiphilic substance comprising a≥16C alkyl-having glyceryl monoalkyl ether, and/or a≥16C fatty acid-having glyceryl fatty acid ester and having a melting point of 45 to 75°C.
