<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method of group elements, especially and preferably, an authentication method of sensor nodes in a wireless sensor network. <P>SOLUTION: A group has a main element (D) which is a special element. Each group element (N<SB>i</SB>) exchanges information with the main element (D), and authentication of the group elements (N<SB>i</SB>) is made to the main element (D). The main element (D) sends an authentication request to the group elements (N<SB>i</SB>), the request sent to all the group elements (N<SB>i</SB>) are identical. The each group element (N<SB>i</SB>) sends an authentication response to the main element (D) according to the authentication request.
